Professional Roof Cleaning Across Volusia County

Daytona Beach Roof Savers provides professional roof cleaning and soft washing for homeowners in Daytona Beach, Port Orange, Ormond Beach, New Smyrna Beach, and the rest of Volusia County. If your shingles are covered in black streaks, that is algae, not dirt, and high-pressure washing can make the roof worse. We use a low-pressure soft wash to kill the growth, then offer HydraSoy rejuvenation to put oils back into aging shingles so you can delay a full replacement.

What Are the Black Streaks on Florida Roofs?

Those black streaks are almost never dirt. They are Gloeocapsa magma, a type of blue-green algae that feeds on the limestone filler inside modern asphalt shingles. Florida never gets cold enough to kill it off, so it grows all year, spreading down from the ridge on the shadier sides of the roof. Left alone it holds moisture against the shingles and makes a roof look older than it is, which is how a lot of homeowners end up pricing a replacement they do not need yet.

Soft Wash, Not Pressure Wash

Pressure washing a shingle roof blasts off the protective granules that shield the asphalt from the sun, which shortens the life of the roof. A soft wash does the work with chemistry instead of force: we apply a roof-safe cleaning solution at low pressure, let it kill the algae, moss, and lichen at the root, and rinse gently. Plants are protected before and after, and remaining stains keep fading with the next few rains.

HydraSoy Roof Rejuvenation in Daytona Beach

A professional-grade, soy-based roof rejuvenation treatment that helps aging asphalt shingles last longer, perform better, and delay costly replacement.

How HydraSoy Works

Asphalt shingles rely on internal oils to stay flexible and waterproof. Years of UV, heat, wind, and weather slowly bake those oils out, and the shingles turn brittle and start to crack.

HydraSoy is a hyper-emulsified, soy-based penetrating formula that absorbs into the asphalt layer of the shingle and replaces those lost oils. It works best right after a soft wash, which is why we offer the two together as a bundle.

  • Extends roof life 5 to 10 years on shingles that are aging but sound
  • Save up to 80% compared with a full replacement
  • Bio-based and safe for your home and landscaping
  • Not a leak repair: we will tell you if your roof needs more than rejuvenation

HydraSoy was developed in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and is used by roofing professionals nationwide.

Who does roof cleaning in Daytona Beach and Port Orange?

What are the black streaks on my roof?

They are Gloeocapsa magma, a blue-green algae that feeds on the limestone filler in asphalt shingles. Florida humidity lets it grow year-round. It is not dirt, and a low-pressure soft wash kills it at the root.

Is pressure washing safe for a shingle roof?

No. High pressure strips the granules that protect shingles from the sun and can shorten the life of the roof. We use a low-pressure soft wash on roofs and save pressure for concrete and other hard surfaces.

How much does roof cleaning cost?

It depends on the size and pitch of the roof, the roof material, and how heavy the algae growth is. We give free estimates, and you will know the price before any work starts.

Is roof rejuvenation worth it?

For shingles that are drying out but still structurally sound, usually yes. HydraSoy puts oils back into the asphalt and can add 5 to 10 years of life for a fraction of the cost of a new roof. It is not a fix for leaks, soft decking, or missing shingles, and we will tell you if your roof is past that point.

Do you replace roofs?

Full replacements are handled by our sister company, Daytona Beach Roofing. Daytona Beach Roof Savers focuses on cleaning, rejuvenation, inspections, and minor repairs so you only replace a roof when it truly needs it.
